About this policy
PEOPLES LAW P.C. is a California law firm. This policy covers information collected through peopleslawpc.com and our related phone, email and text communications. It is not a complete description of how we handle all information in legal matters or a replacement for a representation agreement.
Information you provide
Our website contact form collects your name, email address and message. Our separate email newsletter signup collects your email address. When you call, email or text us, we receive the contact information and content you provide, including your mobile number and messages when you text.
We use this information to respond to questions, schedule appointments, arrange requested callbacks and coordinate requested legal services. We use newsletter signup information to send the email newsletter you requested. Contacting us or subscribing to the newsletter does not give permission for SMS messages.
Website services and information handling
Our website uses GoDaddy hosting and Website Builder and displays a cookie notice. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA for spam and abuse protection. These services involve providers handling information needed to operate the website and its features. Cookies and similar technologies can support website functions, security and usage measurement; their operation depends on the features and settings in use. A cookie notice does not by itself describe every tracking technology or establish that all cookies can be declined.
For website and related communications information, our policy is to limit provider access to what is needed for the service involved. We may also disclose information when required by law, subject to applicable professional duties. These statements do not authorize sharing information contrary to our obligations to clients. The specific rule for SMS consent below applies separately from ordinary message delivery.
SMS terms: purpose and consent
We send manual, one-to-one text messages from our company phone number about client questions, scheduling, requested callbacks and routine coordination of legal services. This SMS service does not include bulk promotional campaigns or automated SMS.
SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of representation. Our representation-agreement SMS consent section provides separate YES and NO choices and a mobile-number field. Signing the agreement alone, or agreeing generally to electronic communications, is not SMS consent. We do not treat an unanswered or ambiguous choice as permission to text. You may communicate by telephone or another agreed method instead.
SMS frequency, charges and help
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile provider's charges depend on your plan.
Reply STOP to withdraw SMS consent or HELP for assistance. You may also withdraw consent or request help by calling 415-429-5899 or notifying us directly. We will honor your request; a non-promotional opt-out confirmation may be sent. Withdrawing SMS consent does not terminate representation. We can arrange another communication method.
SMS privacy and safe use
SMS opt-in and consent data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates. Message transmission necessarily involves messaging-service providers and telecommunications carriers processing the mobile number and message content to deliver communications. This does not authorize those entities to use your SMS consent for their own messaging or marketing.
Ordinary SMS may be seen by others with access to your device or account and is not a secure channel for sensitive information. Please avoid sending sensitive documents or information by text; ask us for an appropriate alternative. Do not rely on SMS for emergencies or time-sensitive legal deadlines. Call 415-429-5899 to arrange appropriate communication. Texting alone does not establish an attorney-client relationship. Nothing here waives your rights or our professional obligations.
Questions, corrections and changes
For privacy questions or to request a correction to contact information you provided, call 415-429-5899 or write to PEOPLES LAW P.C., One Sansome Street, Suite 3500, San Francisco, CA 94104. We will review requests in light of applicable obligations; this is not a promise of unrestricted access to or deletion of legal files.
